'Tar-making in Bothnia'.

The print shows men working in the forests of northern Europe to produce tar. The accompanying text describes the import of tar into Great Britain, the history of tar production and how tar is made. Tar was primarily used to preserve the wood used to make boats with the tar being extracted from pine trees through a process of burning the trees roots with peat and turf. The resulting product is high in turpentine.
