Lancers are a branch of the military, a type of light cavalry armed with pikes, sabers, later pistols, and from the mid-19th century with carbines. The ulans had a special form of clothing, the main difference of which was a headdress with a square top - ulanka.
The battle of Maloyaroslavets took place on October 12, 1812.
As a result of the battle, the Russian army finally seized the strategic initiative and the French troops were forced to retreat and then completely leave Russia.
