"Saint Isaac's Cathedral"
Fourth, modern cathedral building. Construction began in 1818, designed by Auguste Montferrand.
The solemn consecration of the cathedral took place in 1858, on May 30, on the day of memory of the Monk Isaac of Dalmatia, in the presence of Emperor Alexander II and members of the imperial family.
