Ivan IV Vasilyevich, nicknamed the Terrible (August 25, 1530 - March 18 (28), 1584). The eldest son of the Grand Duke of Moscow Vasily III and Elena Glinskaya. Sovereign, Grand Duke of Moscow and All Rus' from 1533 to 1547, and the first Russian Tsar from 1547 to 1584.
