"Statue of the Emperor Nicholas"

  

A monument to the Emperor of Russia Nicholas I was erected in St. Petersburg at St. Isaac's Square, next to St. Isaac's Cathedral. Built by the architect Auguste Montferrand. Construction began in 1856 after the death of the emperor. The opening of the monument took place on 25.07.1859.
