Mokshane, Moksha - an ethnic group (sub-ethnos) of the Mordovians, speaking the Moksha language, one of the two Mordovian languages of the Volga-Finnish subgroup of the Finno-Ugric branch. Most Mokshans profess Orthodoxy, there are also Lutherans.
