French engraving — Pennequin, Edmond-Jules

Edmond-Jules Pennequin (1876-1925) - French engraver and illustrator. Penneken was born on March 10, 1876 in Lille.
in 1894 he entered the School of Fine Arts in Lille, studied with Alphonse Leroy and Pharaoh de Winter. He continued his studies at Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he attended artist classes Leon Bonn and Jules Jacquet. Penneken illustrated many bibliophile works and produced prints for illustrated magazines.
