French engraving — Lemercier, Rose-Joseph

Rose-Joseph Lemercier  (1803 - 1887) was a French photographer, lithographer, and printer. One of the most important Parisian lithographers of the 19th century.  Founder of Lemercier & Cie. Trained by Knecht; established his firm in 1828, which became the largest in Paris. Firm later continued by his nephew Alfred.
