Henri Emile Lefort, French engraver (1852 -1937).
An artist and engraver, he regularly participated in the Salon of the Society of French Artists since 1881, where he exhibited engravings and drawings. Received several awards in 1881: 3rd class medal in 1881, 2nd class medal in 1885. He was a member of the etching jury of the 1888 Show. He received a bronze medal at the World Exhibition of 1889 in Paris and at the World Exhibitions in Amsterdam in 1883, in Boston and Antwerp in 1885.
He made a large number of engravings. Among his engravings and portraits one can note “Edgar Allen Poe”, “Tolstoy”, “Leon Gambetta”. One of the founders of the Society of French Aquafortists, its secretary and president from 1887 to 1889.
