'Eglise de Kazan'.
In the foreground of the engraving are the Catherine Canal (Griboyebov Canal, after 1924) and the Kazan Bridge, the lowest bridge in the city.
To the right, in the engraving, is the Kazan Cathedral (Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God) in St. Petersburg. It was built in 1801 - 1811, on Nevsky Prospekt, by architect Andrei Voronikhin in the style of Russian classicism. After the Patriotic War of 1812, it also became a monument to Russian military glory. In 1813, commander Mikhail Illarionovich Kutuzov was buried here and the keys to the captured cities and other military trophies were placed.
