Italian Engravers — Giarre, Pietro

Pietro Giarre (1736 - after 1791)  was an Italian painter and engraver.

Biographical information is scarce, and the place and date of birth and death of Pietro Giarre are unknown. The artist studied in the first decades of the 18th century in the studio of the architect and artist Giovan Filippo Giarre and his son Domenico, who worked in Florence during those years. It is not known whether Peter and his teachers had family ties. Between 1760 and 1762, Pietro was a member of the Florentine Academy of Drawing. After 1791, there is no information about the artist. Pietro's son and grandson also devoted themselves to art: Gaetano was an engraver and draftsman, and his nephew Raimondo was also an engraver.
