English engraving — Atkinson, John Augustus

John Augustus Atkinson  (1775-1833), was an English artist, engraver and watercolourist. Taken to Russia in 1784-1802 in Russia by James Walker who is thought to have been his step-father. Painted portraits of the Royal Family. On his return to London 1801, he made prints after his works, of Russian subjects, and made outlines etchings for other artists.
