Benjamin Pouncy (1750-1799).
Engraver and topographer, pupil and later brother-in-law of William Woollett (q.v.); seal and topographical engraver. Began his career by engraving seals for Dr Ducarel and Mr Astle' (obituary, Gentleman's Magazine, 22 August 1799). Exhibited watercolour views of Canterbury at the Society of Artists in 1777 and later at the Royal Academy (1782 and 1788). Later employed as librarian in Lambeth Palace.
