A Cossack is a representative of the military class, which developed on the outskirts of the Russian state in the 15th - 17th centuries. from escaped serfs, serfs and the urban poor. Since the 18th century, he was obliged to perform military service in a light cavalry army on his own horse, with his own clothes and weapons, for preferential use of land.
