Moscow. Passion Monastery gates and surroundings.

 

The Passionate Monastery, founded in 1654 in Zemlyanoy Gorod at the gates of the White City in Moscow, was named after the Passionate Icon of the Mother of God.
The Holy Gate of the Strastnoy Monastery is the entrance central gate of the Strastnoy Monastery in Moscow, over which a church was built and represented the dominant architectural accent of Strastnoy Square. In 1937, the church and the Holy Gate were destroyed along with all the buildings of the Strastnoy Monastery
