"Isaac's floating bridge".
"Saint Petersburg, Russia".
Isaac's floating bridge - The unpreserved first bridge across the Neva, has connected Vasilievsky Island with the central part of the city (Admiralteisky Island) since 1727. The bridge got its name from the Church of St. Isaac of Dalmatsky, standing on the left bank of the Neva; now there is a monument to Peter the Great. After the completion of the construction of the permanent Blagoveshchensky bridge, located downstream of the Neva, the Isaac Bridge ceased to exist.
