Coat of arms of Veliky Novgorod.

The coat of arms of Veliky Novgorod is presented in the form of a French shield. At the bottom there are two pairs of silver fish. Pisces represent hope, calm, and security. Above them are two black bears supporting a golden chair with a red cushion. The precious metal symbolizes wealth, animal power and strength. The throne indicates a monarchical past. The furniture is topped with a candelabra with three candles burning with a red flame.
