The Chukchi are a small indigenous people of the extreme northeast of Asia.

Yaranga is a traditional portable or stationary dwelling of the Chukchi. A cone-shaped or round tent made of deerskin. The structure has a light wooden frame covered with stitched deer skins or canvas. The entrance of the yaranga is always directed to the east. The interior is divided into a heated living space and a storage room.
